Healthy Technique

Learning and practicing healthy methods of vocal technique will allow you to connect with your voice and discover your unique sound. In our lessons, I will offer you exercises that will help you to strengthen and condition your voice; leading you to sing with confidence, intention, and freedom.


Without awareness, we can lack direction on what our bodies may need in order to connect with our voices. To connect with and understand our bodies, I will integrate body warm-ups, posture awareness, breathing techniques, aural awareness training exercises as well as anatomical information. This will allow you to create the mind body connection needed to sing with authenticity, power, confidence and trust.

A positive mindset is essential for us to grow and to stay committed to our goals. Whether you are wanting to prepare for an audition or learning how to sing just for the joy of it; together we will work together to retrain your mind to focus on building a healthy relationship with your voice from a centering source of love, kindness and patience.

WHAT will you experience in a lesson?

Each 1 hour lesson will begin with a centering practice focusing on one or more of the following:

  1. Stretching to release any tension formed in the body and face
  2. Breath awareness, control and strengthening
  3. Vocal or listening meditation to quiet the mind and initiate a mind-body connection

Vocal technique exercises to strengthen aural awareness, vocal control, power, dynamics, tone, pitch accuracy, placement and range.

The second half of the lesson, will consist of learning a song of your choice or a song I feel fitting for you, (your choice!).

WHO is Whitney?

I am a professional vocalist with 19 years of vocal training and performance experience. Since beginning this musical journey at the age of 11, singing has allowed me to cultivate a strong mind-body connection, self-compassion, trust, joy, confidence and creative self-expression. I love creating music with the voice, I learn learning more about myself through my voice and I love connecting with others through singing.

I love guiding and helping others through the journey towards inner trust, connection, and joy through singing. I firmly believe, with guidance, an open-mindset and the right set of tools to sharpen your skillset; everyone has the ability to sing with grace, confidence, and ease.
